About Ms. Warner
Educational Background
I attended Central Washington University where I obtained undergraduate degrees in Law and Justice and Political Science. I worked in the legal field as a Paralegal before going back to school to obtain my Masters in Teaching at Northwest University.
Teaching Background
I taught third grade at Cascade Elementary in the Renton School District for several years. During my time in Renton, I was fortunate to participate in a University of Washington math grant study involving real world math tasks (which we continue to work on presently!), extensive training with teacher’s college (Lucy Calkins Reading program) and training in restorative justice. Three years ago, I had the pleasure of teaching second grade here at Maple Hills and then moved to fourth grade. I am so fortunate to continue math grant study work here at Maple Hills as well as other trainings/education to continue to support my love for new learning. I love bringing real world challenge/application, STEM components and critical thinking to the curriculum we have in place and do everything I can to make sure students are having fun while learning.
Things I love besides teaching...
I enjoy spending time with my family - I have three daughters: Avery (18), Lily (14) and Peyton (14). Avery is headed off to the University of Rhode Island while Lily and Peyton will be freshman at Liberty. I also enjoy reading, traveling, hiking, watching football, coaching gymnastics and all things Harry Potter.
