Thank you for your help! Highlights of this week: Character Trait - Each month we will focus in on an important trait as a whole school. The trait for December is empathy. Math: In math, we have been working on prime and composite numbers as well as learning the place value strategy and standard algorithm for division. When you are working with students at home, have them show you the "reindeer on the roof , monkey elbow, subtract and bring down" way to solve. A great sites to help with our math: https://embarc.online/. We are in Module 3, Lesson 27. You can always review past concepts as well on this site. Reading: As we wrap up our non-fiction unit, we will be building STEM projects to accompany our weather projects. In addition, we have been studying non-fiction text features and author's purpose. Writing: This week we worked to continue on our essay writing choosing a thesis statement supported by three reasons which were further supported by three pieces of evidence. We have started our second piece of writing, focusing on an important issue we feel strongly about. Social Studies: We finished up our Lewis and Clark unit and all groups made it to the Pacific Ocean and returned to Fort Clatsop. Important Dates
