,Highlights of the week:
Character Trait - Each month we will focus in on an important trait as a whole school. The trait for October is "acceptance." Math: This week we worked on multi-step story problems involving addition and subtraction with large numbers. We finished off the week with our assessment for Module 1 today. I am looking forward to spending a few days working on some fun real world math tasks before we move on to our next Module next week. Reading: In reading, we are continuing our character studies through our read-aloud, Tiger Rising and though our own personal books. We also are discussing making interpretations of our books by looking at the characters, setting, plot, recurring objects and the mood. Writing: This week we worked on "sticking our landing" with a satisfying ending for our readers, as well as revising and editing our writing. Science: This week we focused on the Earth's position as well as differing scientific views over time about the Earth's movement. We swapped classes this week for science, so students had the opportunity to learn from Mr. Kinkade and Mrs. Tutor as well! Big shout out to Averie and Ellie who bravely ran for student body leadership and gave amazing speeches this week. Important Dates
